21 WINDOW SIGNS IN CHOICE MAKING!

Window signs are those signs you have to look carefully to observe before taking a decision.

In Genesis chapter 24, Eliazer was on a mission of getting a wife for Isaac.

He went to “My country (Body of Christ, born again…)”

He went to “My kindred (spiritual tribe, denomination, same belief system)”

But he still needed window signs to be sure!

He prayed for God to show him window signs…. Gen. 24:12-

At this point, he was in the “Country and kindred”, but he asked for physical signs that portrays character….

1. The ladies were coming to draw water….meaning she must be HARDWORKING, not lazy

2. The one that will agree to give me water to drink…… KINDNESS….not stingy!

3. The one that will also volunteer to give my camels water to drink….. Someone that loves your ministry, business, companions, etc. Verse 19-20

4. Rebekah came along….. She was very beautiful. Remember she was going to fetch water, yet she was well dressed and looking beautiful. Most ladies and guys want to buy something down the street, so they wear almost rags to go…. Watch against people who don’t care about how they look…

5. She was a beautiful virgin, yet very polite, social, respectful…….. Watch it, you need someone who is social, polite, easily to interact.

6. At first meeting, she addressed him politely, “drink, my lord”….. No insults. First impression matters a lot. Watch it, anyone that becomes proud because of beauty, position, privileges…. That is a bad signal.

7. She wasn’t showing kindness, respect, dutifulness to Eliazer because she saw him as a suitor, Eliazer was an old man, so Rebekah knew he was way beyond a potential suitor. Most ladies are too saucy, insulting to people they know they won’t marry, but they will pretend to be good to single guys.

8. Verse 22, Eliazer brought out golden earrings, gifts and gave to her. No matter how spiritual he is, watch out for his giving habits, if he is stingy, that is a bad signal.

9. Eliazer requested to visit her home….. You are with a guy, and he is not making plans to know your home, watch it. Verse 23

10. She was ready to accommodate him and his entourage. Note: Eliazer hasn’t even mentioned his mission, he was too old for Rebekah to even consider him a suitor. She was just being her well brought up girl!

11. She exhibited hospitality, generosity, readiness to help.

12. She went home to tell her people….. Watch it, you have been with a guy or lady for long yet doesn’t want his or her people or friends to meet you…. Bad signal.

13. Rebekah’s family were hospitable… They welcomed him and took care of him without mentioning his mission. Watch it, you come into a family and his/her siblings and parents are against you… Bad signal. Verse 31-33

14. Eliazer refused to eat not until he has told them his mission. Watch it, a guy is allover you for long now, yet has not made his mission clear enough….. He is not serious. Verse 33.

15. He told him everything about his master that sent him. He opened up into the family records….. Watch it, someone is coming for marriage or you want to marry her, yet you know nothing about their past, lives, visions,personalities, love languages, etc…. That is a bad signal. The person should take you on a journey into their lives. Verse 34-50

16. He was able to convince them about his mission. A guy wants to marry you, yet he can’t even convince you to marry him, he is not serious. He is too busy to make out time….watch it.

17. He requested for consent and was given, then he proceeded to pay her bride price before taking her home. Many ladies are living with men who have not paid their bride price on them…. Verse 53

18. He was in a hurry to take her away, but the girl’s parents asked him to give the girl time to be certain…. Don’t let a guy rush you. Don’t be in a hurry to follow a guy….

19. Since divorce was no option, they gave her time to consider all these, then after all, she gave them her words. Many people are contemplating divorce because they ignored the WINDOW SIGNS because they were in a hurry to get married,

20. Rebekah’s parents sent her away and blessed her. Parental blessings is important, ensure you get it freely and not under duress…. Verse 60.

21. When Rebekah saw her husband afar off, she alighted the camel, covered herself with a veil… That was an example of wedding before consummation. Verse 64-65.

Watch against these window signs. Don’t say because he or she is born again, go beyond that and check the character and habits of the person…….
